Santa Croce is the burial place of some of the most illustrious Italians, such as Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli, Rossini, and Marconi. It is known also as the Temple of the Italian Glories

Jewish architect Niccolo Matas designed the church's neo-Gothic facade. Note the prominent Star of David.
