Michele was quite an entrepeneur. He owned a small grocery store on a large lot with a house at the back Next, he enlarged the grocery store into a liquor store. Then he bought the building next door for a beer garden. When Tom was little, he remembers going over to Uncle Mike's and going to the beer garden. They had a penny slot machine and Uncle Mike had lead slots which he gave to Tom to use in the slot machine.
