Aunt Tillie and Uncle Joe were married in Sonoma and their three children were born there. They moved to Los Angeles, then to Placentia with the rest of the family. Uncle Joe worked for an oil company. He died young after a prolonged illness.

We spent many days with Betty and Clarence and Pat and Pam. Daddy would bring us down for the day and we would sit and listen to the adults talk or go out back where they had a very high garden swing. I loved that swing! I remember looking at all the little things Betty had in her china cabinet, saving them for her girls when they were older. Little dolls, teacups and saucers and wonderful odds and ends. I envied Pat and Pam.
